We are part of the Healthy Schools Initiative and therefore reinforce healthy eating wherever possible during our snack and school meals service.
School dinners are prepared and cooked in the Junior School kitchens and served in the Infant School hall. It is helpful if the correct money can be sent to the school office via your child’s classroom in an envelope, firmly sealed and clearly marked. At present, school dinners cost £1.50 per day, which should be paid at the beginning of the week, where possible. A sample menu is included at the end of the prospectus. If your child has any particular dietary needs, the cook in charge of the kitchen will be pleased to discuss any changes to the school meal menu to cater for your child’s needs.
Packed lunches may be brought by children to be eaten under supervision at lunch time. Please do not include sweets or fizzy drinks in the packed lunch.
We positively encourage parents or carers to claim free school meals for their children, where they are entitled to through being in receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance – Income Based. Child Tax Credit is also a qualifying benefit as long as the applicant does not receive Working Tax Credit and has an annual taxable income of less than £13,910. The ‘Guaranteed’ element of State Pension Credit is a further qualifying benefit. An application form can be obtained from the School Office. Applications need to be renewed every six months.
